New Germany home prices rise in the second half of 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in the second half of 2017 in New Germany rose by $28,550 while total sales remained unchanged with six homes sold, according to BlockShopper.com.

From July through December of 2017, there were six homes sold, with a median sale price of $172,000 - a 19.9% increase over the $143,450 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were six homes sold in New Germany in the second half of 2016, as well.

The median sales tax in New Germany for 2017 was $2,462. In 2016, the median sales tax was $2,524. This marks an decrease of 2.5%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 1.4%.
