Rep. Jim Nash sent a letter to Minnesota Secretary of State Steve Simon asking him to investigate potential violations of state law.
"This afternoon, I sent a letter to Minnesota Secretary of State Steve Simon urging an investigation into multiple potential violations of Minnesota election law from a video released on social media Sunday evening," Nash said in a Sept. 28 Facebook post.
In the letter, Nash speaks about voter harvesting, which is illegal in Minnesota.
"The potential alleged violations of state law documented in the video include unlawful voter harvesting (203B.08 subd. 1), illegal payments to voters (211B.13 subd. 1) and elderly voters targeted for absentee ballot fraud," Nash wrote in the letter, according to the Facebook post. "As Minnesota's top election official, you have a responsibility to ensure fairness and integrity of our elections. We must have clarity on whether there is any truth to these allegations and that can only come from a full and robust investigation."
