City of Glencoe issued the following announcement.
Project Website, Interactive Map, and Online Survey are now available; in-person events coming in Spring 2021.
The City of Glencoe is starting work on its new Comprehensive Plan by launching the plan’s website, collecting community ideas for the City’s future, and inviting residents to join
the Project Steering Committee that will work with consultants to guide the work.
Glencoe’s new Comprehensive Plan will help guide the City’s evolution over the next twenty years, and will include recommendations for land use, housing, business development,
parks, transportation, and downtown vitality, among others. The new plan will provide a single, comprehensive umbrella that gathers recent initiatives and orients recommendations
to match residents’ vision for the future. The plan’s completion is expected for October 2021.
The planning process will include numerous opportunities for residents to contribute their ideas and comments. Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, initial activities are online-
only, but include a wide variety of tools and opportunities, including:
A project website at glencoeplan.org with information and opportunities to comment
A brief online survey, available at the website, to collect ideas for the plan’s vision
An interactive online map, also available at the website, to collect issues and ideas for improvement
It is expected that in-person public participation activities will start in Spring 2021 as health conditions improve.
The work of the plan is managed by a Project Steering Committee (PSC) made up of residents, business owners, City staff and elected and appointed officials. To increase
representation, the City is seeking up to five additional community members to join the PSC. Applications are open until December 31, 2020.
To apply, please contact Assistant City Administrator Lynn Neumann at 320-864-6951 or visit the plan’s website at www.glencoeplan.org for additional details.
