MCA and MTAS: How many Glencoe-Silver Lake School District students took their Math tests in 2021-22 school year?

Glencoe-Silver Lake School District ranked second in the McLeod County for test participation, with 733 students taking the Math portion of the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment and the Minnesota Test of Academic Skills in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Minnesota Department of Education.

The number of Glencoe-Silver Lake School District students taking the tests in the 2021-22 school year rose by 1.4% over the previous year.

Glencoe-Silver Lake School District's students achieved an average Math proficiency rate of 41% in 2021-22 school year.

Fourth grade students stood out with 24% of them exceeding standards in Math, which was the highest recorded proficiency at the district.

On the other hand, 11th-grade students had the most room for improvement, with 54% not meeting the expected standards.

Glencoe-Silver Lake School District encompasses schools within McLeod County and has a main office in Glencoe.

Minnesota students take the MCA annually (or the MTAS, for students with cognitive disabilities) to determine their academic readiness. Not every grade is tested each year.

Analysis from the Nation’s Report Card showed Math and Reading scores have fallen significantly in the last decade. Science scores have been steady in recent years.

Minnesota Department of Education issues could lead to data irregularities.
