How did Central Public School District students do on 2021-22 MCA and MTAS Reading tests?

Central Public School District ranked second in the Carver County for test participation, with 456 students taking the Reading portion of the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment and the Minnesota Test of Academic Skills in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Minnesota Department of Education.

The number of Central Public School District students taking the tests in the 2021-22 school year rose by 5.3% over the previous year.

Central Public School District's students achieved an average Reading proficiency rate of 52% in 2021-22 school year.

Eighth grade students stood out with 19% of them exceeding standards in Reading, which was the highest recorded proficiency at the district.

On the other hand, third grade students had the most room for improvement, with 40% not meeting the expected standards.

Central Public School District encompasses schools within Carver County and has a main office in Norwood Young America.

Minnesota students take the MCA annually (or the MTAS, for students with cognitive disabilities) to determine their academic readiness. Not every grade is tested each year.

Analysis from the Nation’s Report Card showed Math and Reading scores have fallen significantly in the last decade. Science scores have been steady in recent years.

Minnesota Department of Education issues could lead to data irregularities.
