In light of recent federal raids and ongoing investigations into alleged fraud in Minnesota’s Housing Stabilization Services program, Representative Bobbie Harder (R–Henderson Twp) has addressed the situation.
Harder released a statement emphasizing the need to review how public funds are distributed. "Recent instances of alleged fraud in state-funded housing programs highlight the need to reassess how taxpayer resources are allocated. Ensuring funding for essential services like long-term care, emergency response, and rural infrastructure should remain a top priority."
She further commented on the impact of fraudulent activity on those who depend on assistance. "What's most troubling is that those who genuinely need assistance are being overlooked. When fraud infiltrates our support systems, it's Minnesota's most vulnerable who pay the price while bad actors exploit the system for personal gain."
The investigation comes as federal authorities have conducted searches and continue inquiries into claims of misuse within the housing program. The focus remains on safeguarding public funds and ensuring they reach those intended to benefit from such services.
