Chaska City - MN issued the following announcement on Jun. 20.
Our Water & Sewer Department is working with the Minnesota Department of Health to collect water samples from homes built before 1986. Why before 1986? That was the year lead was banned from use in plumbing.
If your home was built before 1986, you could get your water tested for lead and copper for free. There are limited spaces available, so samples will be sent out on a first-come, first-serve basis. You can call Municipal Services at 952-448-4335 to schedule your appointment.
Since we are a community public water system, we help collect these samples to meet requirements of the Lead and Copper Rule.
