Representative Dawn Gillman (R–Dassel) has congratulated Ridgewater College’s Agriculture Equipment Mechanic program for being named the National Association of Agricultural Educators (NAAE) Outstanding Post-Secondary Program for Region 3.
The NAAE Region 3 award covers Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin, Iowa, and Nebraska. It recognizes programs that excel in preparing students for careers in agriculture. Ridgewater’s program was noted for its practical learning opportunities, partnerships with industry, and dedication to student achievement.
Jon Barka, Erik Hoff, and Randy Barka were recognized as instructors who have developed an environment where students gain hands-on experience and confidence to succeed in the agriculture sector. The program started in 2017 and received both its current name and formal accreditation in 2024.
The instructors will be honored at the NAAE Conference scheduled to take place in Nashville, Tennessee this December.
