As the Minnesota legislative session nears its end, lawmakers are working to finalize a balanced budget before the May 19 deadline. Legislative leaders announced late Wednesday that they had reached a new budget target agreement aimed at restoring fiscal balance to the state. According to the announcement, this deal will eliminate nearly half of the structural deficit attributed to Democratic policies.
The agriculture conference committee has also been meeting this week to work out details for this year’s agriculture legislation. State Representative Bobbie Harder said she is advocating for rural communities in these discussions, emphasizing support for agricultural producers and rural families.
In recognition of National Police Week, the House passed a resolution honoring Minnesota’s law enforcement officers. “I’m proud to support our law enforcement through my work on the Public Safety Committee and back home. Please take a moment to thank an officer for all they do to keep our communities safe,” Harder stated.
With only days left in the session, lawmakers continue negotiations on remaining legislative matters. Representative Harder indicated she would provide further updates as more details become available. “It’s an honor and privilege to work for you at the Capitol. Don’t hesitate to contact my office at any time to share your thoughts, concerns or ideas. I am here to serve you!” she said.
