City Of Chanhassen recently issued the following announcement.
Chanhassen residents averaged 171.1 gallons per person per day last summer, mostly from outdoor use. So what can we do to reduce our usage this summer?
Layer your mulch to retain moisture in your garden
Purchase a rain barrel to collect water and reuse it for your lawn
Choose plants that are well-suited to the site (for example, drought-tolerant plants for dry areas)
Ue efficient sprinklers/hoses to avoid water waste
Set sprinklers to keep water on the landscape, not pavement
